Woodchip — $50/m³

Woodchip is our most affordable bulk mulch option and one of the hardest working. It's chunky, coarse, and breaks down slowly — which makes it ideal for areas where longevity matters more than looks, and where you want to lay it thick and leave it.

What it's good for:

• Pathways and high-traffic garden areas
• Around trees, fruit trees and established shrubs
• Erosion control on slopes and embankments
• Animal enclosures, chicken runs and paddock areas
• Large-scale mulching where budget matters

How it performs:

Applied at 75–100mm depth, woodchip does a solid job of suppressing weeds and retaining moisture through summer. It breaks down slowly compared to finer mulches, feeding the soil over time. It's not the product for a manicured garden bed, but for working landscapes and practical applications, it's hard to beat at this price.

1m³ covers approximately 10m² at 100mm depth, or 14m² at 75mm depth.
